  • History & Tradition Ring True at The Westin St. Francis – Since the hotel’s grand debut on March 21, 1904, The Westin St. Francis, renowned for historical elegance and old world grandeur, has held a special place in hearts and minds throughout the world. “Meet me under the clock!” This time-honored refrain has echoed throughout the halls of The Westin St. Francis for more than a century. Built in 1856, the Great Magneta Clock made an arduous steamer trip from Europe around Cape Horn in 1907, and was officially dedicated on November 30, 1907. This Viennese timepiece introduced to the West, and was installed in its place of honor in the grand lobby following the hotel’s recovery from The Great 1906 San Francisco Earthquake.

  • Cable Car Special Cable cars were invented by Andrew Smith Hallidie here in San Francisco in 1873. Since the hotel opened in 1904 we have been privileged to have the Powell Street cable car stop at our front door! In honor of these iconic cars and their San Francisco history—Caruso’s is proudly featuring: San Francisco’s classic Cable Car cocktail, Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, Orange Curacao, lemon juice, simple syrup served with a cinnamon crusted rim.
  • Around TownFree Museum Days; Several in early September.  It’s easy to visit multiple San Francisco museums without spending a ton of money—if you know when to go! This month, take advantage of the free      admission days at some of SF’s favorites, including the Asian Art Museum, de Young, Legion of Honor,  and Conservatory of Flowers.  Admission ticket will only get you into the general exhibits and permanent collections.  SF Cheese Fest (9/14 & 9/15): The annual SF Cheese Fest features samples of amazing craft cheeses from more than two dozen California cheesemakers. If you love food, you’ll want to attend this event celebrating local food pioneers in the art of preservation, which also includes cured meat, jams, pickles, and more.  Enjoy your delicious bites with your favorite beverages from local brewers and winemakers, and dance along to the live 1930s jazz band. Don’t miss out on one of the tastiest San Francisco events in September.  Craft Spirits Carnival (9/21 & 9/22): Sample some of the best craft spirits at this year’s event. The Craft Spirits Carnival features a weekend of trying the best  whiskey, bourbon, vodka, tequila, grappa, and more. The event runs for two days on Saturday, September 21 (1pm to 5pm) and Sunday, September 22 (1pm to 5pm).  Folsom Street Fair (9/29): Unlike most of the family-friendly neighborhood street fairs you’ll find in SF, this raucous all-day festival is for adults only.  The Folsom Street Fair is one of those “only in San Francisco” events, featuring 13 city blocks of events. Leave the kids at home and head on over to Folsom Street between 10am and 4pm for an experience you will never forget! The parade starts at 2:30pm.  San Francisco Fleet Week; An 8 day event being held from 7th October to 14th October 2019 at the in San Francisco, United States. This event showcases products like Blue Angel Show, Parade of Ships, Marina Green Festival & Humanitarian Village, High School Band Challenge and much more.  BOO! San Francisco 10/25, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium; BOO! made its devilish debut in New York City in 2014, bringing monstrously massive music to thousands of Headliners the most wicked day of the year. In 2015, it traveled west, touching down at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. For 2016 BOO! debuted in Dallas, Texas and Phoenix, Arizona.
