Guest Rooms

Each of the 613 rooms (including suites and corridors) in our Landmark Building are being refreshed with new furnishings that are designed to incorporate a brightened and natural relaxing palette. The newly renovated rooms and corridors are truly a breath of fresh air and a welcome rejuvenation of a storied landmark in its second century.

Drawing inspiration from San Francisco’s moniker as “The Paris of the West”, bestowed early in the twentieth century about the time the St. Francis was built, the fresh design of the guest rooms and corridors in the historic building reminds guests of a lovely spring day in Paris.

The new design for the guest rooms at the famous landmark Westin St. Francis in San Francisco brings a fresh modern sensibility to the historic guest areas of the hotel’s original building.  Each of the 613 rooms is brightened with a color scheme of clear Parisian blue, goldenrod yellow and peony pink, set against pale blue-gray walls and moldings.  Bronze and brushed brass metals and rich wood tones complement the sophisticated color scheme.

Each room features historic crown and panel moldings that are painted in a single shade of pale blue-gray for a modern effect.  Simply elegant columns of fabric in a cloud-like design frame the tall windows and a dramatic blue and silver wallcovering accents the wall panel behind the elegant tall upholstered headboard.  Existing crystal chandeliers are refreshed with a bronze beaded shade encompassing the fixture.

Guest bathrooms, new wood free-standing vanities with bright white quartz counter tops and elegant period-style polished chrome fittings.  Each bathroom received a large frameless lighted mirror.  In the junior suites, the bathrooms were enlarged and feature gray marble floors and shower surround.  Walls are painted a mid-tone grey with bright white trim.

Formerly dark corridors were brightened with elegant modern chandeliers that match the lights at each guest doorway.  Corridor walls are painted a mid-tone blue-gray and the bespoke carpet is rendered in shades of bright Parisian blue and pale gray in an asymmetrical stylized floral motif.  The long corridors are relieved with a succession of elegant portals with marble thresholds.  And large modern framed artwork accentuates each area.
