Located just off the Landmark Lobby, guests and the general public are invited to taste the extensive selection of wines from the historic, renowned Napa Valley winery. Chateau Montelena has been welcoming guests since the late 1800’s, when founder Alfred L. Tubbs built one of the first traditional old-world Chateaus in the Napa Valley. The Barrett family bought the property in 1972, and shortly thereafter Chateau Montelena stunned the wine world with its win at the 1976 Paris Tasting, putting California wine on the map. Known for its top-rated Estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Napa Valley Chardonnay, the Tasting Room at the Westin St. Francis will offer all the same charm, benefits and world-class wines you would find at the Chateau. Open Wednesday - Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., a tasting specialist from Chateau Montelena will be present to offer expertise and provide you the opportunity to taste current vintages of all Chateau Montelena wines, including its Napa Valley Chardonnay, the wine that won in the 1976 Paris Tasting.
