Join the Westin St. Francis on Saturday, February 11, 2012 as we marvel at the parade's elaborate costumes, fabulous floats, festive firecrackers and 250-foot-long Golden Dragon, all of which pass right by our front doors. Taking place from 5:30pm to 8pm, the parade signifies a treasured 150-year-old local tradition, and will light the night bright with its remarkable entertainment. If you'll be staying with us earlier in February, you'll also have the opportunity to take part in festival events such as the crowning of Miss Chinatown and Community Street Fair.

Chinese New Year Parade Route
The parade route, shown in the map below, begins at 2nd and Market Streets and will pass west on Geary to Powell Street directly in front of The Westin St. Francis. It will curl around Union Square and head up to Chinatown.
We would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the San Francisco Police Department will close all streets around the route to vehicular traffic beginning at approximately 4:00pm for the duration of the parade. As a result of the street closures, traffic congestion will be significant. Please anticipate delays. The Westin St. Francis Hotel will accept vehicles into our Carriage Entrance and allow vehicles to leave during the parade. Our main Powell Street Entrance will be closed to guests entering and exiting the Hotel. Please plan on entering and exiting the Hotel during the parade at our Geary Street Entrance.
